GABRIEL Valenciano has revealed why he decided to cut short his journey in Season 8 of hit reality talent search “America’s Got Talent.”

The 26-year-old caught the attention of the show’s judges when he performed his super selfie dance number.

It was then reported that he eventually passed the early stages of the competition.

A few months after confirming this, Valenciano decided to quit the program and follow his career goals.

“When people ask me, ‘did you actually make it to the judging?’ Yes, I made it pero when we got deeper into it, me, my Mom and Dad, we all talked about it and we all realized you’ll never be assured na you will really make it,” he said in Cinema News.

According to Gab, he’s planning to build his own media and production company in the States to practice his degree in music, which he earned from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.

He’s currently on a one-month vacation in the Philippines to be with his family and fiancé, Filipino-Spanish and Australia-raised Tricia Centenera.

“Babalik ako doon para i-practice yung napag-aralan ko. Magtatayo ako ng own media company ko doon. Pero siyempre we would be working with Filipinos,” said Gab.

Aside from taking a short break, Gab and Tricia are also planning their February 2015 wedding in Tagaytay City.

He disclosed that it will be a very intimate event, inviting only closest family members and friends.

After the wedding, Gab said they will celebrate with their immediate families in Boracay.

Gab also shrugged off comments that they seem to be in a hurry to tie the knot.

Although they’ve been dating for five months, he said they’ve been friends for almost four years now.

“Medyo na-overwhelm ako (nung una) kasi hindi ako sanay sa foreigner (na girlfriend). Then early this year, naging close kami kasi ang dami nya ding pinagdaanan this year,” he said.

He’s also very happy that Tricia has a very close relationship with his parents, especially with mother Angeli.

“My mom loves her, my Dad loves her also. Sobrang parang mag best friends sila ng mom ko and this is the first time na in my life na nakita ko yung relationship between my mom and Tricia. They really have a bond,” said Gab, son of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano.

“Sobrang nag-iba yung buhay ko. This is the first time na hindi negative yung effect sa akin ng babae. Hindi naman sa negative, pero pag mag girlfriend ka, sometimes siya lang talaga and yung responsibilities napapabayaan,” he added.

Valenciano and Centenera got engaged last May. (Sunnex)
