LACFAEA Joins 116 Philippine Independence Day Celebration
The members of Los Angeles County Filipino American Employees Association (LACFAEA) had always commemorated Philippines Independence with ardor and this year’s 116th Philippine Independence was a notch higher than the previous one, with the organizers led by Chair Brenda Mendoza seeing to it that it would be a meaningful celebration. This year’s event instilled pride in the Filipinos’ deeply enshrined artistry with the cultural performance of UCLA Samahang Dance Troupe featuring excerpts of Dr. Ramon Geluz’s first Filipino opera “Karim at Jasmin” and “The Life and Loves of Dr. Jose P. Rizal”.
LACFAEA was organized in 1974 “to promote and improve the status of Filipino American employees”.
Makati Natives Make it to Fullerton Reunion
The City of Makati has adopted the slogan “Make it Happen, Make it Makati”. The former residents of Makati who now call America home has gone further and made things tower in emotional impact in sprawling Fullerton residence of hosts, Nick and Tech Enciso, Realtor and Veteran Nurse, respectively. Some of the attendees had not seen each other for decades and the reunion triggered flashbacks of happy memories of their youth spent in their former residence.
While the Philippines’ premier financial hub boasts of “5 Grade AAA buildings located in the Makati CBD- Ayala Triangle Tower One, RCBC Plaza, Enterprise Center, Citibank Tower and Phil Am Tower” the June reunion towered higher in terms of strengthened relationships “and a commitment to meet regularly”.
