MANILA (Mabuhay) – Kapamilya star Julia Montes credited “Ikaw Lamang” for helping her improve as an actress after bidding farewell to the television series.
The 19-year-old, who plays the character of Mona, admitted that she found working with industry veterans such as Coco Martin and Kim Chiu to be numbing at first.
“Bago pa man magsimula ‘yung ‘Ikaw Lamang’ sobrang kinakabahan ako kasi iniisip ko kung kaya ko bang makipagsabayan sa mga bigating artistang kasama sa cast,” she said.
“Pero nawala agad ang takot ko dahil lahat ng co-stars ko tinulungan akong mas mabigyang hustisya ang role ko bilang si Mona. Masasabi kong mas nahasa ako bilang isang aktres dahil sa kanila at sa show,” she added.
During an episode of the show, Montes exited the series after her character Mona passed away in front of her husband, Samuel, portrayed by Martin.
“Ikaw Lamang,” which stars Martin, Montes, Chiu, and Jake Cuenca airs weeknights after “Hawak Kamay” as part of ABS-CBN’s primetime block. (MNS)
