MANILA, May 30 (Mabuhay) — A Commission on Elections (Comelec) official said the commission welcomes the supposed whistleblowers on the alleged cheating operations in Quezon to favor certain candidates.
Comelec Commissioner Luie Guia said Comelec was ready to accept those who had knowledge on the alleged irregularities in the just concluded polls.
“Everyone is welcome here. But we encourage them that they should be able to present us evidence,” he said in a media briefing on Monday.
With this, he urged the individuals to present sufficient evidence to prove their claims.
“We only appeal for them to have some sense of responsibility. There is no problem. As long as they have enough bases, the Comelec is prepared to help look into the problem,” he added.
On Monday, Council of Philippine Affairs (COPA) President Pastor “Boy” Saycon, together with three people, went to the Senate and revealed the supposed poll cheating operations.
The whistleblowers claimed that votes from all precincts in the Quezon province were diverted and changed in favor of candidates of the administration
