Cristine breaks silence on issue with Vivian Velez

Cristine Reyes (MNS photo) MANILA (Mabuhay) -– Actress Cristine Reyes finally broke her silence on the controversy involving her and Vivian Velez, her co-star in the ABS-CBN series “Tubig at Langis”. Velez has resigned from the show allegedly due to Reyes’ rudeness on the set. In a lengthy statement, Reyes narrated her version of the incident. “Last Thursday (March 3), the Executive Producer asked me if Ms. Vivian can share the dressing room with me because her assigned area was not ready to be occupied yet. I, of course, agreed. I was fine sharing a room with any of my co-stars for as long as we have mutual respect. I would not have agreed with production if I had any ill feelings towards Ms. Vivian,” she said. Things began to go sour, according to Reyes, after she and her staff came from shooting a movie. The actress claimed that Velez “made it difficult” for them to get some rest in their shared room because she was making a lot of noise. “I went out to get some air and went to where the common area for artists and production was. The EP [Executive Producer] asked me why I was there. I said it was difficult to sleep with Ms. Vivian inside the room. The EP told me not to worry because Ms. Vivian’s dressing room will soon be ready.” Reyes continued: “Some time passed and finally, the dressing room of Ms. Vivian was ready. From what I understand, she was Read More …

Inaanyayahan siya na makidalo at magbigay ng mensahe. Kung nagkakataon sa kanilang schedule ay dumadalo siya,” he said. The camp of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte earlier questioned Sanchez’s presence in a recent DA event held in Tagum City, where the agency distributed around P611 million worth of agriculture funds and equipment. Osmena blasts ‘cover-up’ in money laundering through casinos

In this photo taken on March 12, 2013, employees at the giant Solaire Resort and Casino Manila practice at gaming tables ahead of the opening on March 16, 2013. Solaire Manila Resorts is the first of four enormous entertainment venues slated to rise over a giant chunk of prime, reclaimed land that industry and government leaders expect will attract millions of cashed-up Asian tourists. ©AFP PHOTO / Jay DIRECTO MANILA  (Mabuhay) – That’s a cover-up. This is how Senator Sergio Osmena III described a statement by the PAGCOR chief that investigators should “look elsewhere” regarding an alleged $100 million money laundering operation done through Philippine casinos. Osmena, author of the Anti-Money Laundering Law, took exception to the statement of PAGCOR chairman Cristino “Bong” Naguiat that casinos are the riskiest place to launder money and that investigators must look elsewhere. “I don’t know why he is saying that because that’s a cover-up. It is very easy to go into a casino and buy chips. Everybody who goes into a casino knows that,” the senator said. The senator noted that casinos do not give receipts when people buy chips from casinos. There are also no questions asked about the source of the funds. “Wala ngang resibo. Dapat meron so there is traceability,” he said. He added: “Very non-discriminating ang casinos. They don’t care where the money comes from. Just lose it in the casinos.” Naguiat explained that there are two kinds of chips – the noncash negotiable and the cash negotiable. He Read More …

Lacson: WPP should explain Mercado’s presence at casino

Presidential Adviser on Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Panfilo M. Lacson answers questions from the media in an interview after he delivered his address at a forum in Makati City last January 23. The former senator had refused to accept his pork barrel funds from the start. He said in a privilege speech that the funds had corrupted legislators. Now, even the members of the media are being named as those who received “payolas.” (MNS photo) CLARK, Pampanga  (Mabuhay) – The Witness Protection Program has a lot of explaining to do in connection with the presence of former Makati Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado in a casino here, senatorial candidate Panfilo Lacson said Monday. “Yung WPP has a lot of explaining to do. Dapat, kung high security risk at dapat talaga sine-secure, I don’t see any business for him to be in a casino, much less sa malayong lugar,” Lacson told reporters in a chance interview here. “I think WPP should really explain bakit ganoon ang manner nila ng pagse-secure ng kanilang witness. Sa alam ko sa witness under WPP, sa safehouse na binabayaran ng national government, ng taxes natin,” he added. Lacson said a whistleblower like Mercado—considered as a key witness in the corruption allegations against Vice President Jejomar Binay—could only get out of the safehouse if he is to attend an activity connected to his duty as a witness. “Puwede lang siya lalabas kung may connection, may relation sa kanyang pagwi-witness. So talagang dapat mag-explain ang WPP,” he said. Asked who Read More …

What’s new in 2016 Honda Civic Coupe? A lot…

2016 Honda Civic Coupe The creation of this new 10th-generation Civic represents one of the most comprehensive and ambitious new-model developments ever undertaken by Honda, requiring an unprecedented commitment of R&D resources and Honda engineering prowess. While the development of the Civic Coupe, together with the Civic Sedan, was led by a North American team – a first for Honda and Civic – the overall Civic series involves design and engineering teams from Honda R&D, as well as sales and manufacturing operations from around the world, especially in North America and Japan, but also in Europe, South America and Asia. In seeking to realize a “dynamic rejuvenation” of Civic and create a new interpretation “in a league of its own,” as the development team defined its mission, Honda engineers set out early during platform development to benchmark the world’s best C-segment vehicles—not only products in Civic’s traditional competitive set, but luxury compact class vehicles as well. Their evaluation of the world’s best products involved extensive real-world testing, ultimately targeting European luxury vehicles for the new Civic’s ride, handling, steering and NVH (noise, vibration and harshness), and also its interior quality and refinement. Achieving these lofty aims while meeting requirements for an affordable compact car, in terms of cost, fuel efficiency and manufacturability, stretched the limits of the global Civic team’s engineering capability and demanded new thinking and new approaches to body construction, vehicle aerodynamics, powertrain and chassis design. The result of these efforts is a completely reimagined and reinvented new Read More …
