CTA defers anew arraignment of Coronas on tax evasion case

Corona and his wife Cristina on the tax evasion case filed against them. The CTA 2nd Division granted the motion to suspend arraignment and reset it to Aug. 27, 2014. It said that the arraignment was suspended due to pending petitions, which include the motion to review the case with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the motion to quash the case for lack of probable cause filed by Corona’s camp. The CTA added that the camp of Corona is also set to submit within three days a supplemental motion in its earlier plea to quash the tax evasion case for lack of probable cause. CA panel recommends Soliman’s appointment

No member of the CA’s committees on labor, employment and social welfare  objected when a member moved to recommend Soliman’s confirmation for plenary approval. ABONO Partylist Representative Conrado Estrella, chairman of the House of Representatives’ contingent to the CA, said Soliman’s confirmation would be tackled in the plenary next week. Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, who wrote Estrella about her plan to block Soliman’s confirmation by invoking Section 20 of the CA’s rules, was absent during the hearing. Estrella said Santiago must have to be present when she invokes this rule in the plenary next week. (MNS)

Dingdong open to working with ex-GF Antoinette

CERRITOS – Young and beautiful Filipinas, dressed in native Philippine gowns and escorted by young Filipinos clad in Barong Tagalog, paraded around the Cerritos Regional Park as the Philippine Society of Southeast Los Angeles (PHILSELA) show cased one of the Philippines’ most popular cultural traditions, the Santacruzan last Saturday, May 31, in Cerritos. The Santacruzan Festival is one of many annual projects of the 40-year-old community organization and attracts hundreds of residents in Cerritos and nearby cities who witness how Filipinos celebrate what is commonly described as “Queen of Festivals” in the homeland. The festivity commemorates the search of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena and her son, the newly converted emperor Constantine the Great.  After the Holy Cross was found in Jerusalem and brought back to Rome, there was joyful celebration for thanksgiving. It takes faith to see

“To see is to believe” is a very popular catchphrase. Oh, I’m sure you have heard of it. Does this phrase mean that you do not have to believe in what you cannot see? That you can only believe in what you can see? I am pretty sure this is not the case. See faith for example, faith is something subjective. I can’t see it, yet I can feel it, so therefore, I believe in its existence.  Now, let me illustrate that believing is not just seeing. Let’s try gravity, I believe in the law of gravity and I know you do too. I can’t see gravity and you can’t too, but my faith in it says it is there, simply because my feet remain firmly on the ground.
