NEW YORK — Nicki Minaj (photo) is apologizing for a video that some feel uses Nazi imagery. The rapper posted on Twitter Tuesday that she didn’t create the concept for the lyric video for her song Only. She wrote: “(I) take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. I’d never condone Nazism in my art.” The animated video, which debuted Friday, features a swarm of soldiers with red armbands featuring a logo that has been compared to a swastika. The logo also appears on Minaj’s chest in the clip. The logo features the acronym “YM,” which stands for Young Money, the rap group featuring Minaj, Lil Wayne and Drake. Both rappers are featured on the song along with Chris Brown. The video has more than two million views. Minaj also tweeted that the video’s producer and the “person in charge” of overseeing the video are both Jewish. Minaj faced similar criticism earlier this year when she used of a photo of Malcolm X with a rifle in his hands and juxtaposed it with a racial slur for a song’s artwork.

The Human Rights Victims’ Claims Board (HRVCB) has officially ended the filing of claims for compensation of human rights victims under the Martial Law, and is now set to evaluate almost 47,000 applications. At a press briefing on Wednesday, HRVCB chairperson Lina Sarmiento announced that they have closed on Monday their intake operations at the University of the Philippines – Diliman and at its 14 desks at the regional offices of the Commission on Human Rights. “We will now go to the next stage of the reparation process — the investigation and evaluation stage to determine the legitimate claimants and the appropriate points to be awarded to each victim,” Sarmiento said. She, however, admitted that they may not finish the evaluation by their deadline in September 2015 due to the unexpected high number of claimants. “The biggest challenge is the number of people (claimants). We actually prepared for 20,000, but we got more than double,” she said. “That’s a huge leap from what we expected.” She added that they are also expecting for the number to rise further if Congress will approve a motion seeking for the extension of the filing period. Sarmiento also noted that the House has already approved on third reading the joint resolution extending the period for filing of claims ahead of the November 10 deadline.
