Hyundai is the first automaker to launch android auto

Android Auto premieres in 2015 Sonata Android Auto in the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Fountain Valley, Calif. – Today, Hyundai becomes the first car company to launch Android Auto on production vehicles. Android Auto is premiering on the 2015 Sonata with Navigation at dealerships nationwide, and will later become available on other Hyundai models. “Android Auto aligns with Hyundai’s core interior design principles of safety, intuitiveness and simplicity,” said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. “We launched this highly anticipated feature on our best-selling Sonata, adding to our promise of value. With the launch of Android Auto, we provide more owners with the experience of cutting-edge technology.” Android Auto not only brings a high technology experience to Hyundai owners, but also improves safety. For example, at any given daylight moment across America, approximately 660,000 drivers are using cell phones or manipulating electronic devices while driving, a number that has held steady since 2010.1 Android Auto helps keep drivers’ eyes and attention on the road by integrating the advanced driving-related functions of the user’s smartphone with the familiar centralized screen, physical controls and microphone of their car. Furthermore, the smartphone’s screen becomes “locked,” so drivers are not tempted to look down and interact with their phones directly while Android Auto is in use. Availability For Existing Owners Owners of existing 2015 Sonata with Navigation can get the Android Auto software update free of charge at Hyundai dealers starting today. Later this summer, owners can visit www.hyundaiusa.com/myhyundai and download the Android Auto software onto a USB memory Read More …

Sam Pinto on FHM 100 Sexiest: ‘Give others a chance’

Sam Pinto (MNS Photo) Despite being the odds-on favorite to top this year’s 100 Sexiest Woman poll by FHM Philippines magazine now that last year’s topnotcher Marian Rivera is on the family way, model-actress Sam Pinto said she’s not really looking forward to topping the coveted list for a third time. “Honestly, my personal thoughts about it is why not give others a chance? I mean, I’ve already been number one twice so I think I’m kinda done with it,” Sam said. Sam said that although she has not yet decided if she will attend or take part in the annual party event that usually precedes the announcement of the 100 Sexiest, she is not totally ruling it out especially if she still makes the list, regardless of position. “If fans do vote me in, if they really want me again, then I’ll support them,” she replied. One of the pioneering VJs of MTV Pinoy, Sam is also a mainstay of the GMA Network shows “Sunday All-Stars” and the gag show, “Bubble Gang”, a fun gig that she always looks forward to every week. “I haven’t been asked to impersonate somebody in ‘Bubble Gang’ but I’d like to be part of (a spoof) of a viral video. That should be fun,” she confessed. At this point in her career, what Sam really wants is to flex her acting muscles and be cast in more challenging projects. (MNS photo) MANILA (Mabuhay) — Senator Gregorio Honasan and eight former and incumbent members of the House of Representatives are among those to be criminally charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in the third batch of cases that it will file related to the alleged pork barrel fund scam. In an interview with reporters on Tuesday, Justice Undersecretary Jose Justiniano said the nine would be facing graft and malversation charges, adding no one will be charged with plunder because the amount involved did not reach and exceed P50 million. “Wala kaming binawas kung alam ninyo yung listahan before yun din iyon… Sabi ko nga wala kaming babawasan, wala kaming dadagdagan,” said Justiniano, referring to a television report on the same nine individuals to be included on the third batch. Eligibility issues pushing me to consider 2016 run – Grace Poe

Senator Grace Poe (MNS Photo) MANILA (Mabuhay) – The issues being raised against her by the opposition is pushing Sen. Grace Poe to consider and even plan for a candidacy for higher office in the 2016 elections. Slighted after opposition leader Navotas Rep. Tobias Tiangco said that she was being less than truthful about her lack of sufficient residency to run for President or Vice President, Poe told reporters that such allegations were nudging her to run in the polls next year. “Ang pinaka-nakakaisulto, iyong hindi daw ako tapat,” Poe said before attending the Senate session on Wednesday. “Aaminin ko na ngayon na nangyayari lahat ito, mas napapadalas ang isip dito at pagpaplano. Basta po kung lalabas ako, sabi nga nila, ilang percent na ba ang iyong desisyon? Sa tingin ko mga 50 percent at mas lalo pa nilang tinutulak na mapalapit sa 100 percent,” she added. Tiangco said Tuesday that Poe was six months short of having the 10-year residency requirement to run for either President or Vice President in the May 2016 elections. Meanwhile, Poe said she is qualified if ever she decides to run for a higher post in next year’s elections, following questions raised by the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) regarding her period of residency in the Philippines. Interviewed by reporters, Poe said her period of residency in the Philippines is more than the 10 years required by the Constitution for candidates for president and vice president. (MNS)

Belmonte: Cha-cha by June 11 or forget it

Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. delivers his speech at the opening of the Second Regular Session of the House of Representatives at the Batasang Pambansa Bldg. in Quezon City on Monday morning (July 28, 2014). (MNS photo) MANILA (Mabuhay) – For House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, he has until June 11 to get the House of Representatives to pass his proposal for amendments to the economic provisions of the Constitution, or it’s over. In an ambush interview, Belmonte said, “it’s a big majority we need. If we can’t pass it now, I don’t see how we can pass it in the future. We’ll try our best to pass it now. I think so (now or never), we have to give it a try now.” He believes many are supportive of his resolution, including senators. He said senators told him they can do the same in the Senate. An amendment to the 1987 Constitution requires a three-fourths vote of all members, or about 217 congressmen. Belmonte authored Resolution of Both Houses #1 (RBH1), which seeks to append the phrase “unless otherwise provided by law” to constitutional limits on foreign investments. Minority Leader Ronaldo Zamora said they will not stop Belmonte from trying to muster a quorum, but that doesn’t mean they will back the measure. So far, only Isabela Representative Rodito Albano in the minority supports the measure. Zamora said that’s because he is married to Rep. Mylene Garcia Albano – the sponsor of RBH1. “I support the speaker in producing a quorum, Read More …
