Russian family YouTube Vlog features PH best

A Russian photographer, his wife, and their baby who travel around the world in search of the best spots has featured the Philippines in its video blog, showing how to have fun with the family in the Philippines. Alexander Tikhomirov and Family [via Instagram] The Alexander Tikhomirov Family’s You Tube videos titled “5 Destinations in Philippines! MUST SEE!” and “Born To Be – What does it mean? BEST VLOG from Philippines!” went online in April showcasing the best family vacation spots in the country in travel vlogs that give off the feel of an ordinary family recording its vacation on video. The Born To Be video is episode 12 of the AlexanderTikhomirovFamily vlog which starts off with Alexander talking in English about how they break the idea that family life is boring. The Philippine Destinations video is episode 13, and shows the family enjoying their banca ride, snorkeling amid coral reef in the blue waters, and swimming among rock formations. The vlogs about the Philippines showcase the charm of island beaches showing glimpses of Filipino lifestyle with Alexander holding his baby while checking out the ever-present basketball ring, some fighting cocks, a monkey and even a dog on an island’s beach, bountiful food offerings, hotel amenities that include kids playground. Makati Business Club remains bullish on PH economy

Filipino businessmen are looking at the Philippine economy in a positive light and continuing big investments in the country this year, according to a survey of the Makati Business Club (MBC). The First Semester Executive Outlook Survey for 2017 released by MBC to the media revealed the optimistic outlook of Filipino executives in the following areas: A majority 83% of senior business executives projected a higher gross domestic product growth in 2017 compared to last year’s 6.8 percent rate About 57 % expect a higher rate for the 91-day Treasury Bill than the previous year’s 1.5 percent 53 % see exports to either increase by 29 percent or stay unchanged at 24 percent 64 % expect imports to be lower than last year’s $73.72 billion “On investments for 2017, the projection remains bright. A positive outlook remains in terms of corporate performance for 2017, with a large majority of the respondents projecting an increase in both gross revenues and net income in the coming year,” the MBC said in the Philippine Star report. About 74 percent of the businesses confirmed they even add to their investments in 2017, pegging an average amount of P785 million. PHL among the Top 10 world destinations to celebrate Easter

Manila has been ranked in the Top 10 Destinations to Celebrate Easter by Fairfax Media New Zealand’s Stuff. [via THA Holiday] The multi-award winning news and information website for New Zealanders cited how Easter “is a big deal in the Philippines” with its majority Catholic population. Writer Brian Johnston recommended Makati district for hosting the “most colourful celebrations, featuring roadside shrines – sometimes up to 40 in a kilometre stretch of street – in masterful creations of folk art.”  “Street parades include religious re-enactments, marching bands and choirs. Street hawkers sell sweets and rice puddings, and a carnival atmosphere reigns,” wrote the travel writer who has been to Philippine tourist spots several times. Gundam Anime picks PHL to host International  Expo

The Gunpla Expo World Tour, the official international event for fans of the anime Gundam, is being held in the Philippines for the first time. Gunpla Expo [via Photobucket] After holding the exhibit in various countries in Asia like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hongkong, Thailand and Malaysia, the Philippines takes on the hosting this year of the exposition dubbed as the biggest Gundam Event of the Year. The 2017 Gunpla Expo would be featuring various limited-edition items as well as newly released Gundam and Gunpla merchandize. Thousands of Gundam fans and Gunpla enthusiasts alike would also be looking at the three-meter-tall version of the famous White Mobile Suit. The international exhibit would also be showing Pinoy versions and models of one the characters from the series, Bearrguy as well as masterpieces created by Filipino modelers.
