Queen of All Media Kris Aquino says she has no plans of entering politics next year.
QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino is not running for public office next year amid rumors that she was eyeing the gubernatorial post in her home province of Tarlac.
“Hindi po (No),” was Kris’ reply to Superstar Nora Aunor, who asked her in showbiz-oriented program “The Buzz” on Sunday if she’s joining politics in 2016.
Kris said that her main priority is to be the best parent for her two sons, Joshua and James Jr.
“You all know what my priority is, mga anak ko, and Gerbel (Bimby’s nanny) is getting married in September. The yaya was there from the start, (minsan) wala kami ni James, and I really promised him na the entire adjustment period, I’m going to be there,” she said.
“He said, ‘Are you going to bring me to school and pick me up?’ Sabi ko, ‘yes honey, I will’. They are going to adjust the schedule.”
She said public service needs undivided attention.
“Ang pulitika requires someone who has no other responsibility but the responsibility to serve the constituents. I want to be the best mom I can be. And I can’t be the best mom I can be if hahatiin ko (ang oras ko),” she said.
Kris also expects a tough 2016 for brother, President Benigno Aquino III, who will step down from Malacañang after his six-year term.
“Aalagaan ko din ang kapatid ko kasi pag natapos ito, bata pa siya, 56. I’m sure, let’s be honest, ang daming kaso na mangyayari in 2016, so, kailangan niya ako. Andoon ako,” she said.
Some militant groups will likely file cases against Aquino for his involvement in the illegal Disbursement Acceleration Program and bloody police operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last January 25 once he loses immunity from suit after June 2016. (Sunnex)
