MANILA, Philippines – Tomorrow at 9 a.m. on GMA News TV’s Gandang Ricky Reyes Todo Na Toh (GRR TNT), a special tribute to mothers will be presented. Host Ricky Reyes interviews a single mom who worked as a beautician to raise her eight children and send them to school. The woman’s sacrifice paid off and she now owns a beauty salon. “I thank God for giving me eight intelligent, wonderful children,”says Mommy Lits with tears in her eyes. A letter sender’s wish for her mother is granted.  A makeover magic is performed by Ricky and presto! Nanay is more than happy to see a new her in the mirror after being dolled up and pampered ready to celebrate a Mother’s Day dinner with her offsprings. “I felt I’m as beautiful as Ganda Ng Lolah endorser… my favorite actress Gloria Romero,” the woman exclaims. Ricky’s Mama Ada (Doña Amada Zabarte) met her Maker November last year and since then the host-producer never stopped grieving. “She’s my inspiration, the wind beneath my wings and No. 1 fan. I tried everything to prolong her life but only God knows when one has to join Him in heaven,” Ricky says.   A short feature on Mama Ada and her last years with her family will be aired on GRR TNT. “It is not too late. Hug and kiss your mother and whisper in her ears — Nanay mahal kita,” adds Reyes.

CBS News reported  that the note was taken from Cobain’s wallet when police arrived at his home on April 8, 1994, after Cobain fatally shot himself. The note was never made public. CBS obtained it from the Seattle Police via a public information request. The network reports that the undated note, apparently written by Cobain on stationery from San Francisco’s Phoenix Hotel, is written like a mock wedding vow. It references Love as Cobain’s “lawful shredded wife” who would be “siphoning” his money for drugs. Cobain’s body was discovered in Seattle on April 8, 1994. An investigation determined that days earlier Cobain had gone into the greenhouse of his home and taken a massive dose of heroin. He then shot himself with a 20-gauge shotgun. Earlier this year, in advance of the 20th anniversary of Cobain’s suicide, a Seattle detective reviewed the case files, including evidence photos and statements. He found no new information to change the police conclusion that Cobain took his own life. Cobain, who was 27 when he died, sold millions of albums with Nirvana and helped popularize the Pacific Northwest’s heavy, muddy “grunge” rock. Two male Pinoy recording artists whose debut CDs were recently put out offer varying types of music and meaty back stories that make them equally interesting to the ears.  With open arms, the local radio airwaves welcomed the voice of Herbert C. through his ballad carrier single Pano Yon?. His songs’ genre and singing style somewhat fall in the company of ’90s balladeers like Renz Verano (Remember Me) and Jerome Abalos (Larawang Kupas). Yet, while the other two mentioned attracted listeners primarily on the strength of their husky vocals, his can be attributed to the carefully cooked recipe of songs with strong hooks sung by a voice that hits just the right notes without being forceful as to show off.  “Lovelife ko po ang inspiration ng kantang Pano ‘Yon. Martir ako sa babae at lagi akong sugatan,” shared Herbert C. who after realizing the fulfillment a singer gets from recording his own materials now plans to record an album every year.  Two tracks to probably get more attention are Akala Mo Lang ‘Yon, a piece blessed with an infectious chorus and penned for people who wrongly judge, and his rendition of the Willy Cruz-written Doon Lang, his favorite karaoke song.
