MANILA (Mabuhay) – The temperature in the country’s summer capital dropped to 11.8 degrees Celsius.

The temperature was recorded at dawn Tuesday.

The chilly weather is due to the presence of the northeast monsoon or amihan, which is currently affecting Northern Luzon.

Weather bureau PAGASA said Baguio will experience a colder temperature in the coming days especially in January.

As early as October, tourists started to flock to Baguio to experience the cold weather.

Last December 18, the temperature in Baguio City dropped to 12 degrees Celsius.

The lowest temperature so far recorded in Baguio City was 6.3 degrees Celsius on January 18, 1961. (MNS)
