Keith Urban: The cool American Idol judge works out with wife Nicole Kidman in a gym near their Nashville home.

Sheep are generally calm, serene, and gentle. They are said to be mild-mannered, shy, sympathetic, amicable, good-hearted, and just. The calmness of sheep makes them less stressed, which has positive effects on their health and well-being. It was also observed that sheep love fresh and organic produce.

Intrigued, I looked into the health and lifestyle of seven US celebrities born in the Year of the Sheep (2015 is the Year of the Wood Sheep).

Fire Sheep (1907, 1967) according to www.chinahighlights.com are “amicable, frank and honest, always making everything clean and tidy, and are seldom disliked by others. They are always ready to help their friends, disregarding their own personal gains or losses, so they are very popular. As far as marriage is concerned, they are not suited to getting married early on.”

• Vin Diesel (born July 18, 1967 in New York) is best known for his role as Riddick in The Chronicles of Riddick trilogy from 2001 to 2013 and as Dominic Toretto in The Fast and The Furious film series from 2001 to the present. He also acts as producer in both film franchises. Men’s Health UK wrote “Via his Facebook page — third in popularity behind Michael Jackson’s and Barack Obama’s — Diesel keeps in regular contact with people in every corner of the world, delivering his thoughts on love, peace, and energy. Diesel stresses the importance of considering how you present yourself to the world. Do you want to be the constant critic, snide and funny, but eventually depressing to be around? Or would you prefer to be the guy who tries to see the best in everything? According to Diesel, the latter will get you much further in life and in your career. However platitudinous it sounds, Vin Diesel, the hard-knock bruiser who used to work the door in New York nightclubs, has achieved something quite remarkable. He has muscled his way to calmness, balance, and mental ease, and used his redoubtable reputation to tell the world all about it. By capitalizing on his tough guy physique and persona, he has freed himself up to live his life exactly as he pleases. It’s a surprisingly refreshing attitude. And one which is effortlessly encapsulated by the man himself.”

• Keith Urban (born October 26, 1967 in New Zealand) married actress Nicole Kidman in 2006, but he is quite popular on his own as a country singer. Somebody Like You was named by Billboard as the biggest country hit of the 2000s. Keith has three Grammy Awards, 31 singles on the US country charts with 17 of them hitting number one. In Nashville, Keith Urban and wife Nicole Kidman are known in Bread & Company as the oatmeal-and-egg-white-omelette couple, according to People magazine. They place the same order every time they arrive, they chat, they smile a lot, they are always very relaxed. As a judge on American Idol, he was caught in the middle of a spat between the two lady judges. He just remained calm and quietly sipped his soda. He works out with Nicole regularly in a gym near their Nashville home.

• Julia Roberts (born October 28, 1967 in Georgia) became a Hollywood sensation after the romantic comedy Pretty Woman, which grossed half a billion dollars in 1990. Aside from having two Golden Globe awards, one Academy Award, and several nominations, Julia’s movies have collectively raised over $2.6 billion in box office receipts. She was the highest paid actress throughout the ’90s until the first half of 2000s. People magazine has included her 11 times in the list of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World.” Daily Mail quoted her thoughts about her life on her secluded ranch with her husband and children,  “It’s peaceful and it’s a relief. I always say you can’t be in a bad mood here. I don’t know if it’s New Mexico or just the mountains, but you can’t be silly in a negative way. The petty, trite things that make you go, ‘Oh, God, it’s not the right size’ or ‘Why is this happening like this?’ — that kind of stuff doesn’t exist so much here. Everything is kind of clear.”

• Jamie Foxx (born December 13, 1967 in Texas) portrayed Ray Charles in the 2004 biographical film Ray for which he bagged the Best Actor award from the Academy, BAFTA, and Golden Globe. Recently, he portrayed the villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and William Stacks in the 2014 version of Annie. Men’s Health revealed: “Foxx is a low-key presence. His movements are leisurely but deliberate. He doesn’t roll in, flop down in a chair, and take over the room. The Texas native speaks softly, thinks things over. And when there’s something to laugh about, he comes to life. He’s a self-described ‘Southern gentleman,’ with a set of traits imparted by his late grandmother, whom he often credits for giving him the foundation for his success: character.”

Wood Sheep (1955, 2015) are said to be “amicable, gentle, compassionate, and ready to help others. Wood Sheep often live alone or feel lonely in married life, and their spouse often travels. However, they have a steady marriage bond; what’s more, it’s very hard for a third person to come between them.”

• Bruce Willis (born March 19, 1955 in Germany) became popular via his role as David Addison in Moonlighting (1985-89) and was most popular as John McClane in the Die Hard series. He appeared in over 60 films with a combined gross of $3 billion. When asked for advice, he told GQ,  “I recently heard one of my fellow actors say it in three words: ‘Just shut up.’ Just go silent. Maybe it’s being older; maybe that’s just a tiny tag of wisdom, that you’ve got to think about something before you say something. I once thought that somehow, with this job also comes the inherent right to say whatever I want regardless of whether I’m right or wrong or think that anybody needs to hear it or should hear it. Another thing that I heard whispered by another actor is: ‘You’ve got to do the hard stuff first.’ Do the big scene first, and then you can do the small scenes and have fun. It’s great advice for life.”

• Bill Gates (born October 28, 1955 in Washington) is a business magnate, philanthropist and inventor, most popular for co-founding Microsoft. He is consistently in the Forbes list of the world’s wealthiest people. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he said, “But the mystery and the beauty of the world is overwhelmingly amazing, and there’s no scientific explanation of how it came about. To say that it was generated by random numbers, that does seem, you know, sort of an uncharitable view. I think it makes sense to believe in God, but exactly what decision in your life you make differently because of it, I don’t know.”

• Whoopi Goldberg (born November 13, 1955 in New York) was Celie, the maltreated black woman in the 1985 drama The Color Purple. She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the romantic fantasy movie Ghost where she played Oda Mae Brown, a wacky psychic. “I think the idea that you know who your inner self is on a daily basis, because … you know. What’s good for you 25 years ago may not be good for you now. So, to keep in touch with that, I think that’s the first ingredient for success. Because if you’re a successful human being, everything else is gravy, I think,” is one of Whoopi’s quotes in www.brainyquote.com.
