Elmer Padilla has a wall full of action figures in his home. Hellboy, Deadpool, Bumblebee and even the Predator grace the walls where he lives in Cavite, but unlike other action figures that are sold in malls for thousands and thousands of pesos, he made all of his from scrap pieces of flip-flops. When he’s not making action figures out of scrap, Elmer is a pedicab driver, working hard to make ends meet. His family of four moved from Catbalogan City in Samar province to Imus City in Cavite to try his luck in the big city, but lack of money meant he couldn’t even buy food for his family, or even acquire papers to find a job. On September 17, Elmer walked 5 kilometers to reach the Lotus Mall in Imus to create action figures from Hellboy and the Transformers out of flip-flops. Photos of Elmer’s skill and craftmanship as well as his products hit Facebook and went viral. Photos of Elmer working on the steps of the mall quickly went around Facebook, and as of now has around 41K likes and 17,430 shares. Elmer’s craftmanship was borne out of extreme poverty, and he quickly taught himself to create toys from scrap from the age of 9. “Lumaki po ako na walang laruan kasi po hirap po talaga ang pamilya ko. Mahirap ang kalagayan namin. Ultimo nagkakahalaga ng P10 hindi po mabili-bili (I grew up without toys because my family was poor. We really had a hard life. I Read More …

And for this reason, the DOJ (Department of Justice) offers to him and to his family, the protection of our Witness Protection Program (WPP),” he added. Trangia, a member of the Aegis Jvris Fraternity, returned to Manila Tuesday, three weeks since he left for the United States. MANILA, Oct 14 (Mabuhay) –President Rodrigo Duterte has threatened to declare a revolutionary government in case destabilization moves by his critics, particularly the Left, continue and start slipping into chaos. “‘Pag ang destablization ninyo patagilid na at medyo magulo na, I will not hesitate to declare a revolutionary government until the end of my term,” he said in a report on state-run PTV  News on Friday. “I will arrest all of you and we can go to a full-scale war against the Reds,” Duterte added. He said he will declare the revolutionary government if he thinks his critics are “about to take over the nation” and install a new government. Duterte said he would not declare martial law because he would need to report to Congress for it. He also said that declaring a revolutionary government would be akin to what late President Corazon Aquino did during her term. “Just like your hero, heroine, President Corazon Aquino declared a martial law. Then… about to then changed her mind a few hours and declared a revolutionary government,” he said. Duterte’s statement was part of a taped interview with broadcaster Erwin Tulfo that aired on Friday night. While Duterte urged both the communists and Liberal Party to band against him, he singled out the Left in his recent rants. “And pagka dumating ‘yang panahon ng revolutionary government, lahat kayo, lahat kayo, especially the left. As of now, itong mga legal fronts nila are part of the conspiracy. They are as equally guilty Read More …
