Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte
MANILA (Mabuhay) – Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said he is happy for Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas after President Benigno Aquino III endorsed his presidential bid for the 2016 elections.
“I’m happy for him, I hope he makes it,” Duterte said.
The mayor, however, declined to name who he will support in the 2016 elections, as both Vice-President Jejomar Binay and Senator Grace Poe are his friends.
“If there is really no need for me to come out and support a particular candidate, I’d rather not,” he said.
“Everytime you mention a name you always disappoint the other guy,” he explained.
Duterte reiterated anew that he is not running for president in 2016.
The mayor was the guest speaker last night at a gathering of the Chamber of Commerce in Davao. (MNS)
