Enrique Gil has fallen in love with onscreen partner Liza Soberano.
The two established a bond working as love team partners on the recently concluded teleserye “Forevermore.” They are now doing their first film together, “Just The Way You Are.”
Asked about the status of their relationship, Enrique shared, “Okay naman. It’s good. Meaning very good, meaning very special.”
The Kapamilya actor revealed that he already told Liza he has feelings for her. “Opo, nasabi ko na po sa kanya iyon,” he said.
Enrique admitted it wasn’t love at first sight. He has known Liza for some time prior to doing “Forevermore,” however, he wasn’t really that attracted to her.
“Nu’ng una na nakilala ko siya, nag-hi nga lang ako pero hindi ko masyado napansin,” he said.
It was only after they got to know more of each other on the set of the series that his feelings for the actress developed. “Nu’ng sa Baguio nu’ng nagkwento siya sa akin about her life, (nabuo ’yung) respeto ko sa mga pinagdaanan niya. Tapos ’yung (idea na nag) trust siya sa akin tungkol sa buhay niya. So medyo mas lumalalim na ’yung pag-uusap namin, so doon nagsimula,” he said.
Enrique and Liza became quite close that they started missing each other’s company during shooting breaks. “Everyday magkasama sa taping. Kapag wala kayong (taping), nami-miss niyo ang isa’t isa kasi hindi ka sanay na wala siya. So doon nagsimula,” he said.
Aside from Liza being beautiful, he likes it that they have many common interests.
“Pinaka nagustuhan ko po sa kanya, akala ko nu’ng una niloloko niya ako, ay ’yung mga favorites and mga dislikes niya. Like mga flavors ng chocolates, ice creams, parehas kami. Hanggang sa kwinento niya sa akin ’yung life story niya sa akin doon sa Baguio. So para sa akin, more of respeto kasi hindi daw niya nasasabi iyon sa lahat ng tao,” he said.
At 17, Liza cannot have a boyfriend yet. However, Enrique is willing to wait.
“May forever nga eh, siyempre pwede ’di ba?”
At this point, Enrique is happy that he gets to hang out regularly with Liza because of work. (MNS)
