Gabrielle Current
The 126th Rose Parade is just days away, and one Filipina worthy of a mention is on the Royal Court. Gabrielle Current, who lives in Pasadena and is a senior at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy was selected from over 800 young women who competed for the honor of serving as a member of the 2015 Tournament of Roses Royal Court.
Gabrielle is a member of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation. As the President of Vivace & Friends, she was responsible for producing a benefit concert this summer that raised $5,000 for Youth Orchestra Los Angeles. She is a model and is currently signed with LA MODELS and has been featured in ad campaigns for Pottery Barn, Macy’s, Target, Ross, Kohls, among many others. Gabrielle loves musical theater and has performed in Phantom of the Opera, Titanic, God Spell, West Side Story, 9 to 5, and Xanadu. She hones her voice by studying Classical Voice at the prestigious Colburn School of Music in Downtown LA. Her plan is to attend college after graduating in 2015 and to major in music management.
Gabrielle Current
The Royal Court is comprised of seven girls who were chosen based on a number of criteria, including poise, personality, public speaking ability, academic achievement, and community and school involvement. They serve as ambassadors for the Tournament of Roses – It is a very prestigious honor, but not an easy feat to pull off with grace. Gabrielle has attended over 100 public and media functions since October, all while maintaining a rigorous class schedule at school, completing her college applications, and working as a lead singer/actor on two musicals. She will reign as a Royal Court Princess over the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game on January 1st, 2015.
