MANILA (Mabuhay) — After 10 years, the OPM rap icon is finally back to his own ‘home’ Star Music, as he has finally released his comeback album with the record label titled Sukli. Gloc-9 also served as overall producer of the album.
Sukli serves as his way of giving back to the music industry. Gloc-9 expressed his excitement on working again with his home record company, saying: “I’m excited for all the things that I can do now that I’m back with my Star Music family.”
The album’s carrier single, Hoy!, whose music video was recently released is all about the spirit and resilience of the Filipinos despite trials and hard times.
He shared that the album’s inspiration depicts the day to day experiences of our kababayans, the struggles, and sacrifices Filipinos are making.
“I have laid out more stories here about my fellow Filipinos, along with new music and the voices of some artists I respect.”
His new album features collaborations with artist he admires, including KZ Tandingan on Industriya, Ebe Dancel on Ang Probinsyano, and Mayonaisse’s Mony Macalino on Sagwan, while Barya Lang, Payag, and two versions of Sukli with Maya and Miro Valera are the other songs which completes the album’s list.
Indeed, Gloc-9′s music is one a kind, with his socially conscious and relevant messages in every songs he writes, he continues to capture the hearts of every Filipinos.
