The lotus flower has been associated with purity and beauty and its exquisiteness and symbolism with rebirth had made it one of the most meaningful emblems of achievement.
The nonprofit Asian Women Entrepreneurs of Orange County (AWE) had aptly named its event recently at the White House Restaurant in Anaheim “The Rise of Lotus Awards Celebration” to emphasize the strong connect of the two distinguished awardees whom they were bestowing honors for their exemplary achievements in their chosen fields.
The other awardee was Jeannie Luong who received the “Lotus Legendary Award”.
Fil Am civic leader Gloria C. Rull has just attached to his strings of recognition the “Lotus Award” for making a difference in her field from which women in particular could draw inspiration from in a field where “women business starters were twice as men” but seemingly are at a disadvantage when it comes to knowing the right people, getting information and support and especially obtaining capital to make their business grow”.

And this is what the award-giving AWE is trying to bridge to increase women’s business competitiveness.
Rull’s most recent recognition by AWE comes on the heels of her recent feat at the 52nd Annual Small Business Week Awards celebration at the Riverside Convention Center last June 3 where received the award “Women in Business Champion of the Year”.
Rull has the following attestations for her exemplary dedication to her pursuits given by various organizations advocating for entrepreneurs: “Remarkable Women Award” from Orange County Chapter of the National Association of Business Women Owners, the Maharlika Lions Club Outstanding Community Leader and Businesswoman Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award of the Asian Business Association of Orange County and the and the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County.
Rull was also the former president of the Filipino American Chamber of Orange County and Asian Business Association of Orange County and a board member of the Small Business Financial Development Corporation of Orange County.
Rull’s accolades had given face to the dynamic potentials of many Filipinos who have called this country their second home “and are determined to make a difference in a county where the opportunity to succeed will only be limited by their creativity”.
Buena Park Tennis Circle: Members, families, and friends of Buena Park celebrate the conclusion of a tennis tournament and their expanded membership at the Boisseranc Park in Buena Park. The winners include: Joal Oblanca, Jun Talaid (champion), Tito Llido (1st runner-up), Geovany Manulat, Rolando Acosta, Tony Nguyen and Sam Padroi (2nd runner up). The tournament coordinators included Cesar Reamico, Rudy Malilim and Rex Seldura.
Her achievements had been proven that indeed “America is the land of opportunity that belongs to those who dare and are willing to work hard and commit to achieving the American dream”.
Rull is a Retirement Planning Specialist with over two decades of experience in management, accounting and finance under her belt. She an active advocate and a volunteer and mentor at the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County and the Asian Business Association of Orange County where she offers her time, talent and resources to help women small business owners, non-profit leaders and others to become successful in their businesses and community.
Rull started pursuing her entrepreneurial passion in 2007 by “providing risk management and retirement planning with multiple carriers and on an exclusive basis with New York Life in 2008”. She was also recognized by Wells Fargo Bank with Community Business Impact Award.
Asian Women Entrepreneur is a nonprofit organization which assists Asian Pacific women realize their entrepreneurial potentials. The organization fills a vital need for information, education and networking opportunities to start or expand their businesses.
