MANILA (Mabuhay) – Even as she has yet to categorically state her political plans for 2016, Senator Grace Poe said Wednesday that she is no longer expecting that President Benigno Aquino III will endorse her for next year’s presidential polls.

Poe’s remark came amid pronouncements by a ranking Liberal Party official that Aquino will endorse Interior Secretary Mar Roxas as the administration’s presidential candidate anytime this week.

Aquino and Poe had four meetings in Malacañang in connection with the 2016 polls.

The two met again Monday afternoon before the President delivered his State of the Nation Address at the House of Representatives.

Poe said they did not talk about politics during that instance, discussing instead classified information about governance. She did not elaborate.

Based on the most recent survey results on prospective 2016 presidentail candidates, Poe had overtaken Vice President Jejomar Binay as the public’s preferred choice.

Poe, however, has remained silent on her specific plans for 2016.(MNS)
