MANILA  (Mabuhay) – The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has selected three nominees that would be vying for the post of Deputy Ombudsman for Military and Other Law Enforcement Offices (MOLEO).

According to the Supreme Court Public Information Office, the three candidates who made it to the shortlist were Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon officer-in-charge Rudiger Falcis II, Assistant Ombudsman Cyril Ramos and former Commission on Elections law department head Ferdinand Rafanan.

The post was vacated last February 6 by Emilio Gonzales III, who has retired.

President Benigno Aquino III has 90 days to pick from the JBC shortlist.

The JBC is constitutionally mandated to screen and select nominees for vacant posts in the judiciary and the Offices of the Ombudsman and Deputy Ombudsman.

The council is chaired by Chief Justice Leila de Lima, with ex-officio members like Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and regular members like Jose Mejia, Aurora Santiago-Lagman, and Ma. Milagros Fernan-Cayosa. (MNS)
