QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino said she is giving up on love and wants to focus her time and attention to her two sons and her showbiz career.

Give up na! Hayaan na lang muna. Parang hindi doon ang swerte,” Aquino said on the sidelines of the Yahoo! Celebrity Awards 2014, where she received the Female TV Host of the Year trophy.

Aquino shared she realized that maybe God gave her a loving children and successful career because she is not meant to be with someone now.

Hindi na. Okay na ako with my two sons.

While I feel needed and love, it’s okay,” she added.

The TV host said that even cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicky Belo tried to hook her up with a non-showbiz guy but it did not work out.

Meanwhile, Aquino was asked if how her close friend, Derek Ramsay, helped her cope with her recent breakup with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

She said the actor has been her “sounding board” and would often encourage her to move on, look at the bright side of life and to be optimistic all the time.

So, dapat meron kang ibang sounding board,” she said.

“Kasi minsan lang sa lalake, katulad nun sa ‘Sex and the City’ (line) na ‘he’s not just that into you,’ na kailangan yung lalake pa magsabi sa iyo nun, ‘yun ang papel niya. Pero in the same way na pag malungkot ako, gumagawa talaga siya ng paraan,” she added.

Aquino said she is thankful for Derek’s patience and for giving her male’s perspective on things. She said she better understood the situation because the actor was there to make her reflect on things.

“Na-feel ko with him na whatever I tell him, nagkakaroon ako ng male perspective.

Stop, don’t waste your time and just shut it off’,” she added.

When asked if she had told Ramsay that she is giving up on love, the TV host-actress said she mentioned it several times and the actor would often shrug off her statement.

She said Ramsay is positive that someone will come along the way and will deserve the love she could give.

“Ang sinabi niya, ‘I hope that you’ll realize that not all men will hurt you. (MNS)
