The Open Call exhibit is a thematic community-based biennial featuring artworks by 300 artists who were encouraged to freely interpret the notion of play in sculpture, painting, and photography.

Lynda wrote a short verse about the painting: “It was a day of fun. Who cares if the blue team or the pink team wins? The girls enjoyed playing, the families enjoyed watching. It was fun time for everyone. Hurray! Let’s play again and again.”

Two oil paintings of Lynda “Branching Out No. 1 and “Branching Out No 2” are on display at the San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center (SFVACC) from August 23 – September 10, 2016. The gallery is located at 18312 Oxnard Street in Tarzana, CA 91356.

Juried by Margaret Danielak, the show features 65 local painters, sculptors and photographers in the age of 50 +. The exhibit titled “The Art of Creative Aging” celebrates the minds of artists who continue to explore their creative skills during the third phase of their lives.

The chance to meet and greet these creative “aged” artists is on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 5-7 p.m.

Lynda has had four exhibits this year and she anticipates more before the year ends. In 2013, she has a record of seven exhibits, five of which are out of state (New York, Colorado, Wisconsin, Maryland and Kentucky), 1 in Canada and 1 in California. So far she has participated in 5 museum exhibits since 2012.

In April 2016, Lynda’s double portrait in oil “Amsan and Api” garnered 5th place in an international art competition themed “Cultural Diversity”. She is further known for her beautiful figurative watercolors.

Her painting “California Grandpa” was chosen for the Splash 14: Color and Line book on watercolor. It was edited by Rachel Rubin Wolf and published by North Light Books in Ohio in June 2013.
