MANILA, Philippines — Superstar Nora Aunor joined the rights group Migrante in calling for the resignation of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

The group gathered on Tuesday to commemorate the 20th death anniversary of the overseas worker Flor Contemplacion, who was subject to death sentence after the death of the four-year-old child she’s babysitting.

“Tama na, sobra na! Noynoy, mag-resign ka na!” she said during her speech at the rally, aired in “TV Patrol” on Tuesday.

Nora, who starred played the titular role in the 1995 film “The Flor Cotemplacion Story,” also blamed the government’s inequitable labor policy and the lack of jobs in the country for Filipinos’ decision to work abroad.

“Nanatiling hungkag at ilusyon ang matuwid na daan at ang pagpapakitang tao ni Noynoy, na hindi na natin aasahan na magpapatupad pa ng matinonng programa para sa mga OFW,” she said.

“Ang totoo po, si Noynoy mismo ang pangunahing tagabenta, pahamak at pahirap ng ating mga kababayan,” she further adds.

The Superstar said she doesn’t bear ill feelings toward the president’s decision before not to include her in the list of nominees for the National Artist for Film.

“Ang importante sa akin ay ang mga sobra ng kapalpakan sa mga desisyon niya sa kanyang pamahalaan,” she replied when asked why she calls for the president’s resignation.
