President Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday vowed to reward outstanding policewomen who, despite constraints, extended service beyond their call of duty.
“Kung paanong pagkalinga ang ipinapamalas ninyo sa ating mga kababayan, ay siya ring pagmamalasakit ng estado ang dapat na inilalaan para sa inyo,” Aquino said in his speech during the courtesy call of 10 policewomen who were hailed by the Zonta Club of Makati Paseo de Roxas Foundation Inc. as most outstanding in their field for 2013.
Among them were:

The Palace said the winners, who were awarded in January, were selected based on their service record, achievements, and panel interview with a board of judges.
But aside from them, Aquino also cited Police Senior Inspector Charity Galvez who led 30 police personnel in repulsing 250 rebels who attacked their station in Agusan del Sur on July 30, 2011.
He also cited PO3 Edlyn Arbo, whom he said courageously faced a robber on board a jeep despite being off-duty, and Police Inspector Marjorie Manuta, whom he praised for reporting for duty during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban City.
Lastly, the President cited the feat of four policewomen who were the first responders to the recent robbery at the SM Mall of Asia.
