MANILA (Mabuhay) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said its units nationwide will go on a heightened alert status from October 29 until November 3.
According to PNP chief Ricardo Marquez, the heightened alert status is part of the police force’s security measures for the All Saints’ Day.
Marquez said he is also allowing police commanders to upgrade the alert status depending on the situation in their areas of jurisdiction.
He added that aside from providing security in cemeteries around the country, policemen will also help other agencies and local government units in traffic management.
The PNP will also provide security to transport terminals, particularly in Metro Manila, which is expected to be crowded by passengers who will return to the provinces for All Saints’ Day. (MNS)
