Despite being a public figure for nearly two decades, Jodi Sta. Maria has made it a point to keep her personal life private, preferring to keep mum even in the face of controversy involving herself.

In the past, the 35-year-old actress made headlines due to her separation from her former husband, Pampi Lacson; her rumored feud with Lacson’s new partner, Iwa Moto, with whom she has since reconciled; and her supposed romantic involvement with actor-politician Jolo Revilla.

While they have long been reported to be in a serious relationship, Sta. Maria would always shy away from talking about Revilla, and even from confirming that they are together. This, despite numerous photos of them together on social media, and public appearances with Revilla’s clan of politicians and showbiz scions.

But in a television interview where she appeared alongside her “Sana Dalawa ang Puso” co-star Richard Yap, Sta. Maria was cornered on the topic of her “love life” and finally confirmed where Revilla stands in her life.

In the segment “2 Be Honest”, guests are made to pick one envelope among a set of three. Each envelope contains a question that the guest must answer truthfully.

Yap picked a question about his married life: whether he and his wife, Melody, ever reached a point of near-separation. The 50-year-old actor confidently answered in the negative.

Sta. Maria, meanwhile, ended up picking this question, after the title of her just-premiered teleserye: “Kung dalawa ang puso mo, sinong dalawang lalaki ang bibigyan mo nito at bakit?”

The prized Kapamilya star appeared to have a difficult time thinking of an answer, as she was disallowed by host Boy Abunda to pick Thirdy, her son, whom he had correctly anticipated to be Sta. Maria’s default response.

“Kung hindi kasama si Thirdy, kuya ko ‘yung isa, kasi kakaunti lang naman ang lalaki sa buhay ko,” she said, before pausing to add: “And first time na sasabihin ko—naibigay ko na sa kanya ang puso ko, kay Jolo.” (MNS)
