Aside from the impressive box-office performance of her reunion movie with John Lloyd Cruz, the singer-actress had another reason to celebrate on Sunday after her ward, Jona Soquite, was named the very first champion of “The Voice Teens.”

But instead of boasting about her back-to-back feat, Geronimo humbled herself and expressed how grateful she is with all the blessings coming her way.

“Hindi ko dine-deserve. I feel so blessed! Napakagandang birthday gift, sobra sobra,” she said. Geronimo turned 29 last July 25.

Indeed, what a way for Geronimo to make a comeback on “The Voice” after skipping a season last year.

“Sobrang amazed lang ako sa season na ito, sa teens edition, kasi napaka-diverse ng musicality ng bawat artist. May operatic, may power ballad, mayroong talagang texture ng boses. Sabi ko nga, kahit sino sa kanila ang manalo, magiging happy ako. Pero siyempre Team Sarah pa rin,” she said.

Meanwhile, Geronimo only has words of thanks for everyone who watched her movie with Cruz since it opened on Wednesday. According to producer Star Cinema, the movie already earned P100 million in just four days.

“Sobrang overwhelming ang suporta ng mga tao. Noong bumabagyo, noong malakas ang hangin, nag-ikot kami ni Lloydie sa mga cinemas para magpasalamat sa mga tao. Hindi ako makapaniwala na ganun pa rin ang suporta kahit masama ang panahon,” she said.

Geronimo also reacted to the statement of ABS-CBN chief content officer Charo Santos-Concio that she wants to her to make more movies with Cruz in the future.

“Why not po? Kung mabigyan ng magandang proyekto, movie project na mas babagay pa rin po sa amin, “yung hindi pilit, ‘yung buo sa puso namin na gagawin namin ni John Lloyd, why not?” she said.

Asked what she will be doing next, she said: “Gagawa po ako ulit ng isa pang movie, abangan niyo po iyan, ‘yung Filipino adaptation ng Korean film na ‘Miss Granny.’”

Geronimo also reiterated her desire to work with Daniel Padilla if they would be given a chance in the future.

“Gusto ko makatrabaho si DJ kahit magkapatid lang kami, okay na ako. Sobra kong ina-admire ‘yung batang iyon. Grabe ‘yung lakas ng dating niya. Nakikitaan ko din na mahusay na aktor. Naririnig ko rin na mabuting bata so bakit hindi,” she said. (MNS)
