MANILA (Mabuhay) – Congresswoman Mar-Len Abigail Binay, daughter of Vice-President Jejomar Binay, on Monday confirmed that she cannot forgive Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV for what she has done to her family.
Binay said Trillanes’ attacks are not born out of a sense of duty but personal ambition. She noted that Trillanes has already announced that he wants to run for vice-president in the next election.
“I was talking personally. Ako, hindi ko siya mapapatawad. It is already a personal vendetta. Para siyang kontrabida sa pelikula sa buhay namin,” she said.
“There is that line na sinasabi mo ‘O trabaho lang ito, walang personalan.’ He has crossed that line matagal na.”
Binay said Trillanes’ anger is palpable in the way he talks about her family.
Trillanes is one of the senators leading a Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee investigation on alleged irregularities committed by Vice-President Jejomar Binay while he was still mayor of Makati.
He earlier criticized Binay for backing out of a debate when he was the one who openly challenged the senator.
The senator said Binay failed to keep his word to support mutineers who holed up at the Manila Peninsula in 2007.
Asked if the Peninsula issue is a possible source of the senator’s anger, the congresswoman said: “Yung lang? Para siyang na-busted.” (MNS)
