Actress Iza Calzado is planning to take a short break after she wraps up work on the hit series “Hawak Kamay,” which aired its final episode Friday.
“Hindi naman ako mawawala, hindi naman ganoon katagal, weeks lang or a month or something. But I haven’t even planned it because it will depend on what ABS-CBN will give me,” says Calzado, whose contract with the Kapamilya network will expire in January.
Calzado, however, immediately clarified that she wants to stay with ABS-CBN.
“I mean, dapat naming pag-upuan ‘yon but of course I would like to stay. Ano ba? Wala akong sinabing aalis ako,” she said. “ABS-CBN has given me so much, especially for this year. So many opportunities and I’m grateful and I hope that we could continue to be partners in my career, hindi ba? I hope that they would still want me to be in ABS-CBN because I certainly wish to stay.”
In the interview, Calzado also revealed that she’s planning to take an acting course.
“Di ko alam kung saan ako dadalhin ng buhay ko next year. Pangarap ko lang siya, parang bucket list ko na never ko pang nagawa. Parang torn pa nga ako if I’m going to do in L.A., New York, London, Sydney. I have four places that I’m still considering. I still don’t know what would be the best place for me,” she said.
“This year nagulat na lang ako na bigla akong naging busy. I barely have time for myself. I didn’t have time for a full vacation, so inuna ko muna talaga ngayon ang trabaho ko,” she added.
Calzado admitted that she feels she can still improve as an actress.
“Hindi sa nakukulangan pero sa tingin ko malayo pa ang pwede kong marating bilang isang thespian, isang aktres. I still have to do theater. I still have to do so many things and explore so many facets of my artistry and, hopefully, one day, I think I want to continue growing,” she said. (MNS)
