MANILA (Mabuhay) -– “We weren’t ready.”
This was how Joseph Marco explained why he stopped pursuing Alex Gonzaga, who was his co-star in the ABS-CBN series “Pure Love.”
“It’s hard to explain, siguro nung time na ‘yun parehas kaming hindi ready,” he said.
The actor, however, maintained that he and Gonzaga are still good friends and that they still communicate with each other whenever they are not busy.

“We’re friends naman. We text once in a while tapos I just saw her sa party. Okay naman,” he said.
In 2014, Marco was Gonzaga’s date when they attended the 8th Star Magic Ball. At that time, Marco said he initially felt shy around Gonzaga for some reason, but he eventually became close to the actress after spending more time with her.
“Well I guess natutuwa ako sa kanya. I find her cute. Noong una hindi talaga ako interesado kay Alex pero little by little, parang she grows on you. She’s very true to herself, like sobrang totoo niyang tao. Minsan nga — sorry Alex ha — to the point na umuutot siya nang wala siyang paki. Nakaka-amaze lang na parang wala siyang itinatago,” he said at the time.
Marco is currently dating his “Pasion de Amor” co-star Kazel Kinouchi, while Gonzaga is seeing a non-showbiz guy. (MNS)
