IRVINE, CA—Experience the power of an anticipated 8,500 autism supporters united by the cause at the 10th anniversary Orange County Walk Now for Autism Speaks on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Orange County Great Park, El Toro Field, located at 6990 Marine Way in Irvine.
Powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum, this fundraising effort generates vital funds for autism research and raises awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism, the fastest-growing serious developmental disorder, and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder.
Members of the media are invited to attend the event, interview and photograph participants, volunteers and special guests, including Brian Gutierrez, California State Councilmember for the State Council on Developmental Disabilities, and Phillip Palmer, ABC7 Eyewitness News anchor, who will once again serve as the Master of Ceremonies.
OC Autism Walk registration begins at 9 a.m., the opening ceremony is at 9:30 a.m., and the walk kicks off at 10:30 a.m.
In 2012, Orange County Walk Now for Autism Speaks hosted 8,500 people and raised $255,000 for autism. Walk Now for Autism Speaks is North America’s largest grassroots autism walk.
