The Asian Pacific Women’s Center is offering a Free Volunteer Interpreter Training on Oct. 10, Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center located at 244 S. San Pedro St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.

The free lunch training will help Asian and Pacific Islander families in the following:

Interpreting by phone from your home

Interpreting in-person at our shelters or community center

Translating materials at home via email

Reaching out to API communities at events or though ethnic media

Preventing violence through healthy relationship education

The Asian Pacific Women’s Center (APWC) and the Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) are both nonprofit organizations that specialize in supporting Asian and Pacific Islander survivors of domestic violence and abuse.
