Groom-to be Dingdong Dantes has refuted speculations that his televised marriage proposal to Marian Rivera is connected to his rumored plan to enter politics in 2016.
He deems it an unfair judgment.
Actually, rumors about Dingdong entering the political arena had long been speculated.
In fact, many surmised that his appointment as Youth Commissioner at Large, as something that points towards this alleged goal, apart from him being among supporters of PNoy.
Note, however, that Dingdong has always denied the issue.
Dingdong proposed to Marian during the live telecast of the latter’s dance and variety show Saturday night, which, subsequently, has become the talk of the town.
Dingdong said he proposed because of “pure love” and nothing else.
He shared further that he has long realized Marian is “The One.” He was just waiting for the perfect moment to propose to her.
The actor said he made it public for the benefit of their fans and supporters.
Dingdong stressed this again at the announcement of their wedding date a few hours ago, at the Executive Lounge of GMA7.
He said that the fans, as with the Kapuso Network, have been part of their love story and that, it was only proper to announce it with them in mind.
GMA7′s “Royal Couple” (Dingdong and Marian, who else?) announced that their wedding will be held on Dec. 30, at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral along Lantana Street in Cubao, Quezon City.
Asked why they chose a church accessible to many, Dingdong reasoned that it is simply because “everyone is invited to attend the ceremonies.”
Aside from the church being the place where he was baptized; the Cathedral, said Dong, is witness to their love, with them having frequented the place since they became “steady.”
As of press time, the entourage, reception area, wedding gown and other nitty-gritty stuff are still in the works. Even their “royal honeymoon” has not yet been planned out.
Regarding the “royal baby” meant to complete their “royal family,” Marian expressed that they both want one the soonest time possible. (MNS)
