A story originally told over a serialized comic strip by fictionist Nerissa Cabral, Bituing Walang Ningning was made into a blockbuster movie in 1985 starring Sharon Cuneta, Cherie Gil and Christopher De Leon and was then re-made into a hit television series back in 2006 with Sarah Geronimo, Angelika dela Cruz, and Ryan Agoncillo playing the lead roles. QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino is not running for public office next year amid rumors that she was eyeing the gubernatorial post in her home province of Tarlac. “Hindi po (No),” was Kris’ reply to Superstar Nora Aunor, who asked her in showbiz-oriented program “The Buzz” on Sunday if she’s joining politics in 2016. PERFORMER Aicelle Santos has no problem with going solo after singing group “La Diva” disbanded last year. In a recent interview, the Kapuso talent shared that going solo has its own perks and disadvantages. She likes that there’s always new things to discover in showbiz but also saddened that she no longer get to share the stage with then group mates Jonalyn Viray and Maricris Garcia. “It’s a new adventure and masaya siya.
