Jennylyn Mercado talks about being comfortable in one own’s skin

Jennylyn Mercado (MNS Photo) MANILA (Mabuhay) — JENNYLYN Mercado shared she became more comfortable and confident with her body after giving birth to her son, Alex Jazz, in August 2008. The Kapuso actress said that she grew to love and appreciate her curves. She added that it could also come with age as she’s not pressured anymore to look good for others, but rather to feel good for herself. “For some reason, mas naging full grown woman na ako, kasi kumpleto na yung pakiramdam ko. Wala na akong fears, hindi na ako natatakot sa kahit na anong isuot ko. Siguro ganun na pag mommy, wala na akong iniisip kundi siya na lang [AJ],” she said. Mercado, who was discovered in reality talent search “Starstruck,” also said that she did not anticipate that in her young showbiz career, she will be hailed as the sexiest Filipina by readers of popular men’s magazine FHM. “Nagsimula ako na wholesome talaga, pa-tweetums and very conservative talaga yung family ko. Hindi pa rin ako comfortable na tinatawag ako na ganyan. Isa akong artista na mommy, na lalabas ng bahay na simple lang,” Mercado said. As for her television career, Mercado said it pays to wait. After the success of her 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival movie “English Only, Please!” the actress is now doing two new films, one with Sam Milby and the other with JM de Guzman, her new soap “My Faithful Husband” with rumored on-again boyfriend Dennis Trillo, a cooking show and another Read More …

Pimentel wants nationwide manhunt for ‘missing’ Limlingan

The Blue Ribbon Sub-Committee, chaired by Sen. Koko Pimentel, resumes its inquiry on the alleged overpricing of the 11-storey new Makati City II Parking Building, the 22-storey Makati City Hall Building and related anomalies. (MNS photo) MANILA, Aug 20 (Mabuhay) – Senator Aquilino Pimentel III on  Thursday called for a nationwide manhunt against Gerry Limlingan, an aide of Vice President Jejomar Binay who has been missing since the Senate started its hearings on alleged corruption involving the Binays last year. “Itutuloy natin ang paghahanap para kay Limlingan at gawin na lang natin itong isang national manhunt,” Pimentel said at the start of the hearing as he justified the need to continue the hearings being conducted for a year now. “Tayo ay nananawagan sa NBI (National Bureau of Investigation), PNP (Philippine National POlice), at sa taumbayan na tulungan ang Senate Sergeant at Arm para po rito sa paghahanap kay Limlingan,” he added. He said the subcommittee is interested to hear the explanation Limlingan as to why he is everywhere the Vice President is. “Where in the world is Gerry. Limlingan? According to the Bureau of Immigration, there has been no record of his departure from the country. If he is in the country, why is he hiding rather than defending himself and family’s name? Or is he held against his will and thus unable to come forward?” Pimentel asked. “We have to find Mr. Gerry Limlingan and hear his testimony before we can even think of terminating our hearing,” he added.
