(MNS photo) MANILA (Mabuhay) – Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Tuesday denied reports that the Department of Justice has dropped its investigation on “Napolist,” a list of names of individuals involved in the alleged pork barrel scam. “How can we drop that, assignment iyan,” De Lima said, adding that the list was personally given to her by alleged scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles. Earlier reports said the investigation hit a snag after the DOJ failed to receive documents from the Napoles camp that would back up the list. A lawyer of Napoles, meanwhile, was quoted as saying in reports as saying that the DOJ had stopped following up on the matter. Contained on the “Napolist” are nine incumbent senators and 69 former and incumbent members of the House of Representatives who, according to Napoles, have been involved in the scam, in which lawmakers’ funds were diverted to non-existent non-government organizations (NGOs) linked to Napoles. Married with two kids, she made her presence felt once again recently, appearing on the cover of a men’s magazine last month. Patricia maintained that it is just the tip of the iceberg as she is on a mission to illuminate Filipinos on beauty and wellness. Since her arrival in Manila a few months ago with her husband, chiropractic doctor Robert Walcher and their kids, they have already embarked on numerous wellness missions. Aptly called Wellness and Beauty Mission by Patricia and Dr. Rob, they have visited around 20 places so far. “We talk about proper ways to live healthy. The President also said that he is not yet concerned about the possibility of China targeting Philippine aircraft, since Beijing has not yet formally declared an air control zone over the South China Sea. “Siguro hindi muna natin dapat pag-isipan na tayo ay pag-iinitan ng isang bansa dahil wala pa ring dinedeclare namang ADIZ [Air Defense Identification Zone] doon sa tinatahak ng ating carriers,” Aquino said. “Baka naman pinapangunahan natin ‘yung problema na wala pa,” he added. Speaking at the GMA News Online-I M Ready Earthquake Preparedness Forum, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said Metro Manila’s earthquake readiness leaves much to be desired. “Kung ige-grade ko ang kahandaan natin para sa isang lindol, siguro below 5 (out 10),” said Tolentino. The forum was organized in light of the recent release of the Valley Fault System (VFS) Atlas by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), which mapped the areas affected by earthquake faults in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. The VFS is composed of two segments: the East Valley Fault running through Rizal, and the West Valley Fault, running through Bulacan, Rizal, Metro Manila, Cavite, and Laguna. PHIVOLCS has previously warned about possible impending activity from the West Valley Fault.
