For people who know each other well, non-verbal communication may transcend the limits of words. One can choose to be silent, and still be understood. This, however, may not hold true for all occasions. Sometimes, we need to speak up in order to be heard and understood. This principle resonates in a case dated Feb. 4, 2015 in which the Supreme Court (SC) favored the taxpayer who invoked the defense of prescription, notwithstanding that such defense was never raised in the protest filed before the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) nor on appeal with the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).

This was revealed by LP chairman for political affairs and Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice a day after Aquino’s sixth and last State of the Nation Address (Sona) where the president said that Roxas epitomized the saying “you can’t put a good man down.” “Palagay ko hindi matatapos ang week na ito ay maiindorso po officially si Secretary Mar Roxas ng ating Pangulo,” Erice said. NBI says Iglesia ni Cristo ‘abduction’ case closed

Manuel Eduarte, chief of the NBI Anti-Organized Transnational Crime Division, said the bureau decided to end its probe on the abduction claims after coordinating with the religious organization’s central office in Quezon City and after visiting an INC compound in Tandang Sora, where Felix Nathaniel “Angel” Manalo was holed up.
