IF YOU are an avid watcher of the Oscars like me, then you’ll more than likely be invited to an Oscar theme party this year.
Two days before the real Oscar Awards last Feb 21, invited guests, brokers, sales agents and elite consultants gathered in an Oscar-themed party at Waterfront Insular Hotel for the Mahipus Realty Awards Night.
Women brushed down their ball gown and swag bags while men put on their tuxedo to get ready for a night at the red carpet, with flashing cameras all over the place. The night was truly dedicated to recreate the glitz, glamour and excitement of the Oscars.
Just as the man of the hour arrived Atty. Diosdado Angelo Mahipus Sr., his lovely wife Mrs. Rosita R. Mahipus together with son Atty. Diosdado Mahipus Jr. and the entire family, the fun started, everyone was busy catching up with each other at the red carpet, splurge on hors-d’oeuvre and cocktail picks.
You can see that everyone was checking on who is the best dressed among them, and I as the host, so privileged to be part of the glitz and glamour, can’t help but feel the sensation of joy and spike of happiness as the night gets all things sparkly and golden.
The night captured that film festival excitement with distinctively scene setting songs and scores from the Oscar’s, hats off to the efforts of Ms Aleiah Guhao dela Victoria and her team.
Mahipus Sr. gladly welcomed guests and land developers at the party. I can say he’s one of my favorite people now, his wisdom and generosity in all aspects had influenced people around him.
Highly revered by his staff for his advices, inspiring words, biblical wisdom, they like him truly for his own deeds touching their hearts.
“I treat my staff, my people as family,” he said. And seeing him going around people at the hall, talking to them, joking around and asking how they are, made me realize he really meant every word he said.
His wife Rosita was also easy to spot for her ready smiles lighten up the mood of the hall, an epitome of a happy, contented wife, sort of like a Mom to most of the staff.
And like the Oscar’s to celebrate the night means recognizing the Top Agents, Spot Cash awardees.
Helping out in pushing the envelope and awarding the big winners were Mahipus Realty managing director Betsy L. Guhao and Mahipus Sr.
Certificate of Appreciation for the Top Elite Consultants were given to Vanessa Sulla, Emma Serado, Shyr Stephanie Sapsal, Dina Carballo, Elsa Basa, Jofelyn Bandao, Aileen Paderez, Donabelle Perez, Emma Ibarra.
Special Awards were also given to Junet Lascano, Janeth Samoza, Josephine Morta, and Julierita Apa-ap (Spot Cash). Appreciaton awards were also handed to Josephine Cabigas, Mega Pacific Realty, Maturan Realty and Diza Realty and special mention to Davao Land Developer Mrs. Myra Cerbo, who also graced the event.
Shiela Fabroa gave an outstanding performance, showing her vocal prowess while everyone enjoyed a sumptuous dinner. Fun and prizes also filled the night, as 2 Sales Agents won the best-dressed of the night, cash prizes and gift certificates were also handed to the raffle winners.
