Weeks after “My Dear Heart” ended its run, Bela Padilla admitted that she is still in constant communication with Zanjoe Marudo, who was her leading man in the series.
The two grew closer with one another on the set of the ABS-CBN series. There were even rumors that something romantic has blossomed between them.
Both Marudo and Padilla quashed all speculations, claiming that their newfound closeness does not necessarily equate to romance.
In an interview, Padilla was unable to answer directly if Marudo is now courting her.
“I don’t know. Hindi ko kasi alam [kung ligaw na]. Hindi ko kasi siya kilala that way. Hindi ko alam, tignan na lang natin kung anong mangyayari,” she said.
But has Marudo already told her about how he feels?
Shyly smiling, the actress answered: “Kinakabahan ako. Parang dapat sa kanya manggaling, hindi sa akin. Siya na lang po ang tanungin niyo.”
Nonetheless, Padilla said she is now open to enter into a new relationship after her split with producer Neil Arce.
“I think so. Hindi kasi siya something na I think of. Hindi ko siya pinaplano. Right now, I’m taking everything one day at a time kasi my first six months of the year was so crazy and hectic so right now, I’m trying to live talaga. Every day, if I want to wake up late, I wake up late. I’m just trying to enjoy,” she said.
As to whether she sees Marudo as a boyfriend material, she said: “Okay naman. Wala naman akong nakikitang problema. Nababaitan naman ako sa kanya, natuwa naman ako na nakatrabaho ko siya.”
Meanwhile, Padilla would like to distance herself from Arce’s rumored relationship with actress Angel Locsin.
“That’s good for them. I have nothing to say na rin about that kasi that’s their own life na. Hindi na ako dapat hingian ng reaction diyan. The last time I talked about it should have been the last time kasi mayroon silang sarili nilang usapan, I’m not a part of that,” she said.
Padilla, however, clarified that she is okay with both Locsin and Arce.
“I’m working with Neil. We have a movie right now that’s being shot by direk Joyce (Bernal). We do have to constantly communicate kasi minsan pupunta kami sa set,” she said of her former boyfriend.
Padilla said she doesn’t have a hard time working with Arce because they had a very good run when they were still a couple.
“Very okay ang relationship namin. Siguro mayroon kaming foundation ng friendship ni Neil na kahit noong kami, we treated each other as friends. Mabait kami sa isa’t isa. Never kami nagkaroon ng sigawan or episode na masama ang loob sa isa’t isa. Maganda ang itinakbo namin kaya wala kaming sama ng loob kahit after. Kaya namin harapin ‘yung isa’t isa,” she said.
As for Locsin, Padilla admitted that she even looks forward to actually working with the actress one day
“For me, isa siya sa mga talagang masarap panoorin. Kapag umiyak siya, maiiyak ka rin. Napakaganda niya. I would be honored to work with someone of her caliber. Sana one day. Ininvite niya pa ako nung birthday niya. Okay kami,” she said. (MNS)
