The two grew closer with one another on the set of the ABS-CBN series. There were even rumors that something romantic has blossomed between them. Both Marudo and Padilla quashed all speculations, claiming that their newfound closeness does not necessarily equate to romance. In an interview, Padilla was unable to answer directly if Marudo is now courting her. “I don’t know. Hindi ko kasi alam [kung ligaw na]. Hindi ko kasi siya kilala that way.
