De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila’s Green Archers won the championship of the 2017 Buddha Light International Association Cup (BLIA Cup) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The DLSU men’s basketball team became the new champions of the BLIA Cup after battling against France's Universite de Lyon in the finals game that resulted in a score of 93-74.

The Philippine team’s Ben Mbala was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament while Ricci Rivero was part of the Mythical Five selection. The Green Archers was coached by Aldin Ayo.

The BLIA Cup is an annual sport cultural exchange organized by the Fo Guang Shan Monastery (FGSM).

The Green Archers, champions of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 79, dominated the 2017 BLIA Cup by beating teams from America, China, Taiwan and France.

The University of St. La Salle (USLS) Chorale Bacolod has been adjudged the Choral Grand Prize Winner at the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition. La Salle Chorale Bacolod [via Interkultur] La Salle Chorale Bacolod brought home the Hoi An Choir Prize 2017 awarded by an international jury which crowned the university choir group as the biggest winner of the competition – winning the Golden Diploma in the three categories it joined and ranking first in two categories. DLSU Eco Car Team wins Asian Drivers Title

De La Salle University Manila’s Eco Car Team crossed the finished line first and beat other Asia Pacific finalist teams to win the first Shell Drivers World Championship (DWC) Asia held in Singapore. DLSU Eco Car Team [by Joseph Nair via Inquirer] DLSU ECT I. C. E. 506, FLUX, ran the track and finished the lap with a record at 1:53:67, topping all Asian teams in the Urban Concept, I. C. E. category, announced the team in their Facebook post. The student team’s first place finish in the inaugural DWC Asia gained DLSU a slot in the 2017 Drivers World Championship to be held in London. The DLSU Eco Car Team Delta previously won first place in the Urban Concept Gasoline in the new Challenger event of the Shell Eco Marathon Philippines held in Clark Pampanga in February. The DLSU team competed against 30 other teams from across the country to battle for ultimate energy efficiency. The DLSU students will now prepare to compete in the UK against the top teams from Europe and America. In 2016 the DLSU Eco Car Team also claimed a spot in the introductory DWC London.
