Arcadia, CA – LA 18 KSCI-TV celebrates the 18th Annual Harvest Moon Festival on Sunday, September 22 at the beautiful Arcadia County Park from 11am to 5pm. Drawing large crowds from across Southern California, LA 18 hosts the most exciting festival of the season.

The Harvest Moon Festival is a holiday boasting a centuries-old tradition, celebrated by many Asian communities. Steeped in cultural tales to delight children of all ages, the festival centers around the full moon, bountiful food, and family gatherings. LA 18’s celebration brings tradition with a contemporary twist in this family-friendly event of Asian cuisine, live entertainment, kids’ activities, shopping and amazing prize giveaways. Visitors can enter for their chance to win a brand new Car or one of several Cash Prizes given away every hour from 1pm to 4pm.

Bring the kids to the McDonald’s® Family Pavilion for fun activities, then cool off with a deliciously refreshing sample of McDonald’s® New McCafé Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie. Visit the Hyundai booth to experience the all-new 2013 Sante Fe Sport, built for today’s family, and the 2013 Sonata Hybrid, the first non-plug-in hybrid with next-generation lithium polymer battery technology. Get the best deals at the Wells Fargo booth in the Business Square, where giveaways, games, and a photo booth will delight visitors. There’s so much more to experience at all of the various themed pavilions – including the Asian Food Zone, free medical screenings at the Healthy Family area, and shopping for culture-specific goods within the Specialty Area.

Taiwanese idol Amber An (An Xin Ya), the multi-talented model, singer and actress with an international following, will perform on the Festival’s main stage. This highly anticipated performance will be her first in the U.S. Joining her are other popular local artists Jeremy Passion, Connie Lim, Gerald Ko, EVOKE Dance Company (2013 Kollaboration LA Audience Choice Winner) and more. Entertainment also includes a myriad of Asian cultural dance troupes.

Now in its 18th year, the Harvest Moon Festival is one of LA’s premier Asian American events and admission is free. Annually, attendees have come from all over Southern California to celebrate this event. To tie it all together, there will be a 1-hour TV special showcasing Festival highlights, airing on LA 18.1—Friday, September 27 at 5pm and LA 18.8—Saturday, September 28 at 7pm.

Presented by Solar Max Technology, Inc. and Sunpower Premier Dealer and sponsored in part by McDonald’s, Hyundai and Wells Fargo, the Harvest Moon Festival will be held at Arcadia County Park at 405 S. Santa Anita Avenue, at the corner of Santa Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive. Free parking is available at Santa Anita Racetrack, through the Gate 5 entrance.
