Solenn to headline new Star Cinema movie with Vhong

Solenn Heussaff (MNS photo) Despite the legal battles he is facing, actor Vhong Navarro is indeed back to business as he is set to headline a movie this year. GMA-7 star Solenn Heussaff reposted a tweet in her Twitter account about her upcoming movie with Navarro. Other details about the horror project “Da Possessed” have yet to be revealed, although Star Cinema has reported that it will be directed by Joyce Bernal. Just last week, Navarro returned to “It’s Showtime” after nearly two months after sustaining physical injuries when he was mauled by a group led by businessman Cedric Lee and model Deniece Cornejo inside a condominium unit in Taguig last January 22 after he allegedly raped Cornejo. Navarro denied raping her and has since filed criminal complaints against those involved in the mauling. While saying that he isn’t sure if he can still go back to his cheerful self, Navarro told viewers of “It’s Showtime” upon his return to the show: “Kayo po ang dahilan kaya ako nanatiling matatag, kung bakit ako nakatayo sa harap ninyo ngayon at ‘yun din po ang dahilan kaya gustong gusto ko na magtrabaho dahil yun po ako eh. Gustong gusto ko magpasaya ng tao.” (MNS)

Gerald Anderson (MNS photo) Gerald Anderson said he is not worried about doing intimate scenes with Angelica Panganiban in a still untitled project under ABS-CBN’s film production outfit. In an interview, Anderson believes his love scenes with Panganiban will not be an issue for his girlfriend, actress Maja Salvador. “Ako before nung nagkaroon ako ng relationship I was an actor, so I’m just doing my job. Instead, Anderson said he is happy to have the chance to work with Panganiban, who is among the prized talents of ABS-CBN of this generation. “I’m just very blessed na pinili ako [ng Star Cinema]. I have a director that I’m very comfortable with, and may new leading lady,” he said. While they have no qualms about being intimate on screen, both Anderson and Panganiban admitted being only acquainted through their respective real-life partners, who were previously film co-stars. Anderson said he is looking forward to learning from the 27-year-old Panganiban, whose career as an actress spans over two decades. “First time ko rin makakasama si Angelica, at tama si Direk (Ruel Bayani), si Angelica, wala siyang hindi kayang gawin. I would love to learn from her,” he added. (MNS)
