There are a lot of people who want to start a business but don’t actually do it.

There are a lot of people who have great plans in life, but up until now, they haven’t acted on them.

There are a lot of people who want to get married, but never actually prepare for the married life, and up to now, they’re still single.

Why is this? There are many people who plan, but never really do anything about their plans!

The answer is this: FEAR!

FEAR OR FAILURE

You’re afraid that you might fail? Well, the moment when you didn’t try — isn’t that a time that you actually did fail? Because you let an opportunity pass you by, you failed to get up and prove what it is that you can really do.

And then there’s the…

FEAR OF REJECTION

You are so afraid that people might say no to you. Well, the truth is, no one wants to be rejected.

My question to you now is, “So what if you get rejected?” Yes, it hurts, but only for a moment.

Yes, it hurts, but it will make you stronger and better, so that you will know how to handle it the next time around.

Another fear is the…

FEAR OF NOT LIVING UP TO THE EXPECTATIONS OF OTHERS

You start to doubt your own capabilities and ask yourself questions like, “Am I good enough?”

“Am I prepared for this?” “Can I really do it?”

If you always think that you are not good enough, you will never be good enough. We all start out with knowing nothing. The important thing is to just START and TRY IT OUT!

FEAR OF FURTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you really doubting yourself or are you just afraid of taking more responsibilities? Taking more responsibilities won’t hurt, especially if you know it can make you mature.

Finally, you might be experiencing…

FEAR OF CHANGING ROUTES

We are afraid to change routes because we are already comfortable with where we currently are.

We usually like to live in comfort, this is why we become afraid of anything that requires us to change and get out from it. We do not have an idea of what we are capable of doing, this is why we choose to become stagnant or remain in status quo.

This means that we are no longer developing ourselves to maximize our fullest potential, all because we are already content with our routine — with what we are used to.

Don’t get me wrong, playing safe is different from keeping yourself safe. Keeping yourself safe means avoiding things that can get you in harm’s way. In situations like that, you really should think twice. However, if what’s on the line is for you to learn new things and to become a better person, then it’s time to decide if you are going to take the risk or not.

Fear pulls us away from the success that we want to achieve and the goals that we want to attain.

This is why it’s a regret to see that what you walked away from was not a risk, but a blessing.

So, what is holding you back?

THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.

Are you really happy and fulfilled with your current situation?

Can you say that you have found something that you want to do for the rest of your life?

If not, what type of fear is holding you back from doing what you really want to do?
