LOS ANGELES – The Taiwan Tourism Bureau presents the third sequel of the Travel to Taiwan series in conjunction with Channel LA 18 KSCI-TV as part of “Time for Taiwan” promotion.

LA 18 celebrities – Jannelle So, Hana Kim, Tracy Bui and Emily Liu  – will lead Filipino, Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese guide tours respectively. The weeklong trip for each group will introduce tour members as well as TV audiences to Taiwan’s cultural customs and traditions. This show will provide TV audiences with an in-depth look at Taiwan’s rich culture and showcase Taiwan’s island beauty.

In a news conference held Monday at 888 Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead, the celebrities took part in promoting their tour along with KSC Vice President April Kuan and Taiwan Tourism Bureau Director Trust Lin. The trips are scheduled for March 25 for Chinese and Vietnamese tour  groups, and April 1 for Filipino and Korean tour groups. This special series will begin airing on LA 18 at the end of March.

The celebrities, in particular Jannelle So, arguable so far the most popular Channel 18 host in Los Angeles, asked their compatriots to enjoy Taiwan in this promotional tour of five days, four nights and with a free travel to the Philippines all inclusive in the package. Jannelle also said that the Philippine stop after the Taiwan tour allows the traveler to stay up to three months in the Philippines.

Jannelle described her past two travel to Taiwan as having “a lot of soul, traditional but modern, and lots of food.”

Taiwan Tourism Bureau chief Lin said the tour will produce a 30 minute DVD for those taking part which he described will be a “lifelong memory that they can cherish.”

The third leg will includes visits to the Zhihkan Tower, Koxinga Shrine and Anping Fort, the Shangrila Farm and will participate in the Taiwan Flying Lantern Festival.

In response to the resounding success of previous episodes on famous filming locations of “On Air” and “Black and White” as well as “Tour Taiwan”, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, in partnership with renowned southern California travel agencies Travel International Group, Hana Tour and Sonic Travel & Tour, will launch guided tours of Taiwan to showcase the best of Taiwan. The tours will not only travel to prominent tourist destinations including Taroko National park, Yangmingshan National Park and Sun Moon Lake, but also present popular local favorites such as Maokong, Jiufen, and Lukang.

Lin said that the Taiwan Tourism Bureau has introduced Time for Celebration (i.e. Taiwan Tourism Events Calendar) as part of the Time for Taiwan Top 6 Tour Themes promotion to assist travelers in creating a high quality and memorable traveling experience. The Top 6 Tour Themes are Time for Love, Time to Marvel, Time for Two Wheels, Time to Shop, Time to Eat, and Time for Nature.
