4 Core Elements in Company Brand Identity

A lot of businesses are so focused on their products and services that they sometimes forget about the company’s brand image.  But an effective visual representation of a company is important for it to succeed. A lot of entrepreneurs overlook the power of a strong brand image and only realize its importance when problems come in.  Brand image is more than just the company logo. It is the soul of the business, which leaves a mark in the minds of consumers.  Besides having a great brand image, businesses should also consider developing their own apps. As the world becomes more and more digital, apps ensure that companies can reach an even a wider audience in an instant. WHAT MAKES A STRONG BRAND IMAGE? Some companies consider brand image as an additional expense that is unnecessary. However, without a strong brand image, a business may not even survive its first year.  Keep in mind that a brand image goes beyond what a company can offer. In simplest terms, a company’s brand image is how the consumers perceive the company as a whole. Brand image should distinguish your business from other companies and make you stand out. It should also make your company instantly recognizable.   Brand image should also create an impression. The design of the website, the cleanliness of a store, the design of the business cards and how a company’s employees treat customers—all of these are part of brand image. Megaworld’s ‘The Mactan Newtown’ cultivates own ‘Mango Festival’

Megaworld recently harvested almost 1,000 kilos of mangoes at The Mactan Newtown along the Megaworld Blvd where 200 mango trees were planted. Megaworld Cebu Properties, Inc. president Noli D. Hernandez and Lapu-Lapu City Tourism head Hembler Mendoza [via Megaworld] The 30-hectare township with its own version of Cebu City’s Mango Avenue, started its land development in 2009 with around 210 mango trees planted along Newtown Boulevard, the main road that traverses the development. After eight years, several mango trees have grown healthy, producing fruits ready for harvest during the months of May and June. “It was the idea of our chairman, Dr. Andrew L. Tan, to really grow mango trees in the township because Cebu is best known for its mangoes,” reveals Noli D. Hernandez, president, Megaworld Cebu Properties, Inc. This year’s harvest season have so far produced around 986 kilos of mangoes. “Some trees, especially those near the construction areas, need to be ‘strengthened’ as they don’t bear fruits anymore. But we are hopeful that with the ongoing cultivation of the trees, more fruits may be harvested in the next season,” explains Hernandez. Megaworld plans to create its own ‘Mango Festival’ every year to celebrate the harvest season. The company is coordinating with the local government to make it part of the regular tourism events in Lapu-Lapu City. “This will certainly be a major tourist attraction because of the popularity of Cebu mangoes,” Hernandez adds. This year’s harvested mangoes will be sold at the Mactan Alfresco.   The post Megaworld’s ‘The Mactan Read More …

Faeldon admits shabu evidence ‘contaminated,’ twits tardy PDEA

Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon (MNS Photo) MANILA, Aug 2 (Mabuhay) — Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon admitted Wednesday said his men indeed mishandled a seized shipment of “shabu” as alleged by an anti-narcotics official, but said the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency could have prevented it. Faeldon said he “accepts” the pronouncements by PDEA-National Capital Region Director Wilkins Villanueva during Tuesday’s congressional hearing that there were “several procedural errors” of the Bureau of Customs in a May 26 raid of a warehouse that yielded crates that contained illegal drugs. “That is exactly true. The evidences were contaminated by some people because they don’t have gloves—that is accurate. Some people [took] photos with those drugs—that is accurate,” Faeldon said in a press conference in the bureau’s Quezon City office. However, Faeldon explained that PDEA operatives were informed of the raid at 9:00 a.m. but they arrived at the scene past 1:00 p.m. “That’s more than 4 hours after we informed them. That’s even longer than the time we received the information from China and the time we already operated it,” he said. “If he arrived earlier, those procedural errors that we have committed could have been corrected earlier,” he added. Faeldon also explained why he wanted only 1 crate delivered as part of the “controlled delivery” to the intended recipients the PDEA wanted to do as part of a possible entrapment operation. He said that under the Dangerous Drugs Act—which the PDEA follows—life imprisonment is the maximum punishment that can Read More …

Family and friends commemorated the 8th death anniversary of Former President Corazon Aquino.(MNS photo) MANILA, Aug 1 (Mabuhay) — Former President Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday expressed apprehension over the proposed dissolution of the Presidential Commission on Good Government and the Commission on Human Rights. The two government agencies were created during the term of his mother, former President Corazon Aquino, after the late strongman, Ferdinand Marcos was ousted from power. Aquino said PCGG’s work, which was to run after the allegedly stolen wealth of the Marcos family, was not yet done. “Sa PCGG, natapos na ba yung trabaho nila? Nung panahon ko, meron pa ring mga nare-recover, meron pa ring mga hinahabol na aminado, hindi pa rin tayo natatapos dahil sa totoo lang, hindi tayo sigurado kung may isang taong buhay na alam lahat itong lahat ng nire-recover na ito,” he said in an ambush interview at the Manila Memorial Park where a mass for his late mother was held. Corazon passed away Aug 1, 2009. “Baka pag pinagsama-sama mo yung mga alam ng kung sino-sino, baka mabuo yan,” he added. The CHR meanwhile remained necessary in an imperfect society, he said. “Hindi pa natin masasabi na nasagad ng CHR yung dapat niyang trabaho at habang buhay ang tao at yung pangangailangan na pangalagaan yung karapatang pantao, pwede ba nating buwagin ang isang ahensya na siyang Read More …
